OUR HISTORY

Founded in 1972, Western Enterprises is a locally owned & operated corporation by two long-time Alaskan families.

Western Enterprises, Inc began as a residential construction company, specializing in the design & building of custom homes. It was during this early stage of development that our high standards were set & our reputation for excellence was established.

The pipeline boom years of the mid to late 70's brought rapid expansion of the Construction, Maintenance, & Commercial Real Estate divisions. By the early 80's Western had designed, built, & managed 29 income-producing buildings. Western Enterprises was well seasoned when the Alaska Depression of the late 80's began. A severe period of over-building was followed by a collapse in world oil prices, & the economy went into a free fall. Never before had it been so important to have income property managed correctly & Western had established just such a reputation. Lending institutions became property owners, & sought help from Western, resulting in Western maintaining & managing 45 commercial buildings, many apartment buildings, & over 1,200 mobile homes for various owners such as the State of Alaska, a number of banks, & the FDIC.

At present, our qualified staff provides leasing, management, maintenance, construction, & accounting for Western's clients. Honesty & integrity had originally formed the base of Western's foundation, & today these qualities are interwoven throughout its infrastructure to everything we do.
